Federico Epis is a freelance illustrator based in Bergamo, Italy.
He graduated in Milan, developing a technical foundation that supports his deeply atmospheric and narrative approach to image-making. Born and raised in the heart of the Orobian Alps, his creative practice is profoundly influenced by nature, outdoor adventures, travel, “bikepacking” explorations, and the interplay of light and landscape. His visual research is defined by a “modern style with a retro touch,” where he utilizes limited color palettes and essential geometric shapes to evoke a sense of vintage nostalgia within innovative, contemporary compositions.
A versatile and prolific talent, he has collaborated with a prestigious roster of international brands and publications, including The North Face, Campari, Swiss Tourism, Millet Outdoor, La Rinascente, and Clementoni. His editorial work has been featured in titles such as The Good Life Magazine, The Pill, and Ted Ed. He’s known for his ability to translate a client’s brief into evocative storytelling – ranging from futuristic urban visions of Milan to rugged mountain scenery.
